🏷️ Expense Tags — Organize Your Transactions Your Way

Organization made easy: Meet the new Tags 🏷️

Keeping your expenses organized shouldn't feel like a chore. Whether you're separating "Business Travel" from "Coffee Runs," you need a system that remembers how you work. We’ve completely rebuilt our tagging system to be faster, smarter, and personalized just for you. Now, your unique tags are saved to your account, making it easier than ever to categorize your spending in seconds.

What’s new
  • Keyboard-friendly "Pill" design: Tags now look like clean, rounded pills. You can fly through your data entry by typing a name and hitting Enter, Comma, or Tab to lock it in. Need to fix a mistake? Just hit backspace or click the "X" to remove a tag.

  • Smart Autocomplete: No more guessing if you used "Groceries" or "Grocery" last time. As you type, we’ll suggest your existing tags. Use your arrow keys to pick the right one, or create a brand-new tag instantly if it doesn't exist yet.

  • Persistent Vocabulary: Your tags are now tied to your profile. This means you can build a consistent naming system that stays with you across all your expenses, past and future.

A quick note on Tag limits

To keep things running smoothly, we’ve introduced a small change to how many unique tags you can create. Don't worry—you'll always see exactly where you stand with a "tags used" counter in the dropdown menu.

  • Free Plan: You can create and manage up to 5 unique tags—perfect for basic budgeting.

  • Premium Plan: If you're a power user who needs deep organization, Premium gives you unlimited tags to categorize to your heart's content.

New Custom Date Range for Budget Reports

We've added a new Custom Date Range option to the Budget Report page, giving Premium users full control over the time period they want to analyze.

How it works:

  • Open the date range dropdown on your Budget Report

  • Select "Custom Range" at the bottom of the menu

  • A modal will appear where you pick your start and end dates

  • Hit "Apply Range" and your report instantly updates to show only that period

Details:

  • Dates are validated automatically — if you accidentally set an end date before your start date, we'll swap them for you

  • Your selected dates are preserved in the URL, so you can bookmark or share specific date ranges

  • Works seamlessly alongside existing options like "Last 3 Months," "Year to Date," etc.

This feature is available exclusively for Premium subscribers.
